			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.sosligo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/irishstew1.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-119" title="irishstew" src="http://www.sosligo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/irishstew1-300x290.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="290" /></a>Delicious locally produced food and traditional Irish craic is at the heart of So Sligo Food &amp; Culture Festival 2010.  From the <strong>World Irish Stew Championship</strong> to the allure of dining by the sea and surf, the festival is a perfect encore to Paddy’s Day and takes place from the <strong>19th – 21st of March.</strong></p>
<p>The streets of Sligo will come alive with a spectacular <strong>carnival</strong> and <strong>live traditional music</strong>. The festival takes in the best restaurants in the area, where a complete evening meal will cost just 20 euro for a limited time. Sample the best in fresh and free range at the <strong>farmer markets</strong> or forage for your own on one of our exclusive <strong>food trails</strong>.</p>
<p>Meet Sligo’s most celebrated chefs, including the highly acclaimed <strong>Neven Maguire</strong>. Young chefs of the future will also have the opportunity to shine in the <strong>Junior Master Chef Competition</strong>, with some star prizes.  Seaweed expert <strong>Prannie Rhatigan</strong>, whose book ‘Irish Seaweed Kitchen’ has become a massive hit, will be on hand to share her culinary secrets.</p>
<p>Chairperson, Margaret Heffernan says, <em>“We have people travelling over from America, the UK and of course the four corners of Ireland. The festival is a feast for both foodies and families. We’re offering incredible fresh cuisine and entertainment, set against the backdrop of the mountains, sea and surf. Not forgetting the warm Sligo welcome!”</em></p>
